On Sunday, 4th September 2016, from 12noon-4pm Shelter NI will launch its latest campaign #ItsInYourHands, with a charity event to be held at the grounds of Belfast City Hall.

Shelter NI will have some surprises for you, children can have their face painted from 1pm-3pm, do some exciting and creative things using their own hands. Besides the fun, Shelter NI will also be able to provide you with more information on what it does and how can you get more involved with it.

It is important to recognise that homelessness and the risk of homelessness are still real concerns and poor housing conditions continues to impact badly on people’s lives.

Shelter NI has been active in the community for 35 years, its positive achievements could not have succeeded without the generosity of local people.

A spokesperson for Shelter NI said: “The continuation of our work remains in your hands; if you share our vision and values in respect of eliminating long term homelessness and poor housing; you can help us by becoming a volunteer and working with us or you could make a personal donation to our cause or you could join with us and participate in our fundraising events.

We do not receive funding from government to help us run our charity, so every penny raised at our fundraising events goes to help meet the needs of homeless people or people at risk of homelessness or people who live in poor housing.

We would love to see you come down on the day and get involved in the campaign, it’s all in your hands.”
