Shelter NI attended the annual Good Samaritans Service at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast, on Sunday 4th March 2018, with actor and comedian Tim McGarry handing over cheques totalling £126,000 to 212 charities. The funds were raised by the 2017 Black Santa Sit-out, continuing a tradition established by the late Dean Sammy Crooks more than 40 years ago.
The money raised by the 41st annual Sit-out is donated to local charities and community groups who strive to make life better for others.
Shelter NI was delighted to accept a cheque for £1000 from the fund this year. As always, these donations go a long way in enabling us to continue to grow our projects SLATE and GABLE, and to campaign against homelessness and poor housing in NI.
We thank you for your generosity.
