The past 12 months have been somewhat of a whirlwind at the Shelter NI offices and we have only just started to reflect on the great year we have had. Here's what happened with our fundraising, events and volunteering this year
On Thursday 29th November, Shelter NI held our annual Filor memorial lecture at the now redeveloped Crumlin Road gaol site. This was the second lecture organised by Shelter NI in memory of Lt Col C G H (Barney) Filor, MBE, ERD and given the success of the inaugural event in November 2011, we were delighted to have been able to once again host an event of this nature
Vintage attired guests danced the night away at Swing for Shelter NI's charity gala at the Stormont Hall Hotel. Kicking off the evening was Gullion Style Events' performance, charting the story of an Irish emigré couple seeking success in the US and showcasing styles from the daring twenties through to the glamorous fifties
On Saturday 16th June, we will be holding the first ever Gala Night for Shelter NI, Belfast, a glamorous vintage extravaganza, headlined by James Huish and his 9 piece Michael Buble band. The Grand Ballroom of the Stormont hotel will be transformed into a music hall hotspot of yesteryear...
This bank holiday weekend has been non-stop for Shelter NI, first up was Frock around the Clock vintage fair in Bangor. The fair was organised by Becky Moore, Creative Director of Decadence Vintage Events.
Shelter NI will be holding its biggest ever Gala Night in Belfast on Saturday 16th June with a glamorous vintage extravaganza, headlined by James Huish and his nine piece Michael Buble band. The Grand Ballroom of the Stormont Hotel will be transformed into a music hall hotspot of yesteryear.
Our volunteers attended the Belfast launch of Give more, a nationwide 12 month campaign encouraging people to pledge to give more of their time, energy or money to help the causes they are passionate about
We are looking for someone to provide programmes about housing and homelessness to young people in schools in the Southern and Western areas of Northern Ireland. You may be based at any of our regional offices and we hope to offer an outreach programme on a one day a week basis
Why not challenge yourself to take part in the Belfast marathon and fundraise for us at the same time! You can choose between running a full marathon (26.3 miles), relay, fun run (3 miles) or 9 mile walk.
