The Role
We will ask you to organise a minimum of 2 events per year. You will be responsible for all aspects of the fundraising including organising the venue, promotion, health and safety, legal requirements, and transfer of funds to ShelterNI.
As a Fundraising Ambassador for ShelterNI, we ask that you act in a professional manner at all times when organising and attending fundraising events.
You must be at least 18 years of age to be a Fundraising Ambassador for ShelterNI. You can be working full-time or part-time, retired or a student or other commitments. You can fit any event around your lifestyle as you choose.
If you:
- Want to help people or are interested in helping tackle homelessness
- Have fundraising skills
- Good communication skills
- Can manage fundraising events
This may be the opportunity for you.
Support
We will help and support you however we can. We can supply fundraising packs, some ideas, donation boxes for cash if needed, advertising on our social media platforms etc. After 2 events we can supply you with a written reference upon request.

Below are some ideas to help get you started:
Some fundraising ideas / events include:
- Quizzes
- Bag packing at a local supermarket
- Car washing,
- Coffee mornings,
- bring and buy sales,
Sponsored physical activities such as:
- walks – 15,000 steps per days for 2 weeks. Do it solo or get your friends and family involved and go it as a part of a relay and set a bigger goal
- cycling
- runs – couch to 5k or local park runs
- hiking – why not get involved with a local hiking group and hike somewhere you’ve never been?
At school:
- non-uniform days
- guess the number of sweets in a jar
Don’t forget, you can set up a JustGiving or GoFundMe page for anyone who wishes to donate but doesn’t have cash. We can supply a link to our LocalGiving page so people can donate directly to us.
